Following a week which saw remarkably little change in the S&P 500, U.S. equities are slightly higher to begin a week full of economic data and earnings.

Tomorrow morning, Friday, July 29, gross domestic product (GDP) data will be released for the second quarter of 2016.

Investors take stock of Fed meeting and earnings; Treasuries rally.

As expected, the Federal Reserve’s (Fed) policymaking arm, the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), decided to keep rates unchanged at the conclusion of their two-day meeting.

Economist John Maynard Keynes noted, “The market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent.”
